The lab
One of the essentials of successful restorative dental treatment is a close collaboration between the dentist and the laboratory and we are fortunate to have our own in-house laboratory, Lab 39, situated in the basement of 30a Wimpole Street.
The laboratory was established many years ago at 39 Harley Street. In 2003, the then owner, Wilky Bunyan, decided to move to Italy and the Lab was taken over by James Dewe-Mathews and his then partner. In 2009 the laboratory moved to 30a Wimpole Street.
By virtue of having the laboratory on the premises, we are able to involve the technician in all stages of the patient’s treatment, from the initial diagnosis, through shade taking, re-assessment of the provisional restorations, to being present when the final restorations are fitted to make any necessary adjustments to the restorations. This is a service that is simply not possible if the laboratory is remote from the surgery, and is available in very few restorative practices.
The laboratory is in state-of-the-art premises and is solely dedicated to crown, bridge and implant restorations. The team of three technicians and a receptionist work on the various aspects of the cases, and all work is carried out using 20 x magnification microscopes.
